Hi guys. Many thanks to all of you who responded to my thread and helped me to make up my mind and first of all big thanks to Jon (Everywherevirtually) who, kind of introduced me the GS 800 last year and gave me some great advice when I started to look for a "go everywhere bike". At this time I can say that I do not just have GS800 :clap but have already done around 800mls so far.So what are my experiences so far?Well....it is naturally very different from my other bike(an R6).First 600 mls was pretty boring as I've had to keep the bike within the revvs and I felt almost as an pensioner :rob when riding it but on the other hand it was good for to get to know the bike, and now whe I can open the throttle it starts to show its real potential. So I'm quite happy with the power and handling, some people complained about a crap seat but I can't say one word against it.Complaints from owners about mirrors? No problem at all.Added some protection from adv-spec, must say that standard screen was a JOKE !!! so replaced it with slightly taller one from Puig. The only thing which will have to be sorted is front suspention which I find very soft and going soon for progressive springs from Hyperpro. So in a few weeks time the bike will be to my taste and the only concern will be ... reliability (hoping with all fingers crossed that all niggles are sorted now as this is the only place where I've got real lack of confidence). Sorry for my english as I'm slovakian and you will understand what I ment.

Welcome aboard! Enjoy the F800 lots and hopefully she will not let you down.:)

Enjoy your bike ... it'll take you places you wouldn't dream of taking the R6 ;)

40,000+ on mine and going great :thumb
:beerjug:

4000 miles on mine and getting better every day. No issues, no dramas and no concerns.

Off to Bristol for its first proper service in a week or so, so interested to see if it feels any smoother after some fresh oil.

:)
