gsa 1200 2009 engine oil ?

The Halfords 20/50 isn't up to the BMW spec.
I think the halfords my be an "H" spec, which is fine for morris marinas and cortinas.

I thought the "H" on the front stood for Halfords :-)

I recently got some 10w40 semi synth from my local Yamaha dealer. 4 litres for £21. Made by Motorex. I've used it for years in ZZR600s. Should be fine in an old ditchpump GS :D

El cheapo 15W50 from local car parts/tools shoppe.

Sorry I am far to chilled this week to lay down any oil-thread abuse on a noob :P

It's not like an oil head boxer is a precision machine it's a dinosaur so deserves Dino juice. It's far better than keeping old oil in or putting piss water In because he can't get anything else.

I do wish people would stop repeating this myth. It is a precision machine, made to modern automotive standards and needs the correct type of lubrication to keep it that way.
