Got a problem on the bike just done over 3,000 miles so no issues. Rode the bike earlier this week and the bike feels very jerky, feels like a fuelling problem. Anyone else encountered a problem like this with the new engine not good for a bike just over a month old!

Get it back to dealer its under warranty

First thing I would try is recalibrating the throttle position sensor. You will need a GS911 for that or its a trip to a dealer

Have you put cheap fuel in it lately? I put cheap fuel in my bike when on a trip in the UK recently, and it ran like a dog until I found a Shell and filled up with V Power.

Yep a bit of crap in the fuel and all the wizardry goes mad, same with the car a few months ago, put my normal fuel back in and all was good.

Ah, now this raises a question. Is it worth, every now and again, filling up with Vpower etc to clean engine? I’m not bothered about sports performance on a GSA, but would be motivated by smoother performance.

personally what I do and its just my opinion, for bike and car I put in 95 and then every 5th full tank I put in top of the range 98, seems to work for me, does it actually clean the engine, I do not really know, but it cleans my head.........:D

Im sure someone will be along soon to tell you your talking pish and wasting your money :comfort:blast:green gri:D

Thats the norm on this forum del unfortunately, they lurk in the shadows.............:hippy

Thats something ive never done is use a higher grade 98 RON fuel, in fact most places up here dont have it just the 95 RON stuff. I might try when i see it and see if i can tell any difference. Ive been told in the past that it improves the mpg figures but never having tried it i dont know.

Shift cam problems ??

Looking at the moles it seems to be about where they can cause issues

You're talking pish and wasting your money.
Tried 98 ron before and it made no difference at all, performance, mileage or smoothness, the only difference was my wallet was lighter.
BMW recomend 95ron, no point wasting your money.

You are probably correct as I said it cleans my head, however one thing is for sure Shell fuel is certainly the best I find the bike seems to like it more, and i actually see the bike running a tad cooler.

When I helped a friend to put decat headers on his GS we could see the exhaust port and valve stems, it looked like the bike had been snorting coke, everything was white, these bikes run lean and hot, I don't think they get dirty.

Wooh cowboy ! It wasnt me who used 98RON it was Smog, maybe you should direct your comments at him :nenau:comfort:green gri:D

Mine was Terrible trying to give it beans fully loaded up the mountain passes, didn’t like it in 2nd with full throttle. Had to close the throttle and open it again, was like it was too rich.

My 1250 is pretty rough at idle and does a pop consistently somewhere between 3800-4200 rpm in each gear, having taken it back to BMW and been told there's nothing wrong I'm not hugely impressed.

That said, it still seems to pull pretty well so maybe it's just the way it's supposed to be and I'm just being too picky.
