GSA 1250 Fuelling Problem

Yeah I'll see how I get on. As for the sensor tweak, I asked BMW to look at that and a few other things and handed it back to me saying there was nothing wrong and asked for £95 for the pleasure. Of that, £13 was allocated to the cam timing/sensor checking so I'm not entirely convinced they looked at it properly...

If it is ok and just a tad notchy, go and have a test ride in another BMW dealer with a similar bike, and try to see if you feel a difference, mine was fixed, but in no way would I qualify it as silky smooth, but I tried my mates 1250 and it felt a little better, but not something that would make me feel wow that is totally different.

How is it feeling today as the Ecu is learning hopefully.

Not really made much difference to be honest... It seems to be reverting to it's old behavior after about 20 miles and still has the 4k rpm pops with bad quick shifter changes. Idle is still ok, but not as smooth as it was just after doing the TPS reset procedure.

I'm going to see Shakey on Monday morning just in case it's the cam timing (and his tools work on the 1250) to look at it and possibly adjust and see what that does. I think that I'll be recording it in case there is something not 100% right so that we can let people know the tools are compatible, that it makes a difference to the ride (or not) and so that I can take it to BMW and get my money back for all the stuff they charged me for regarding the shifter and engine. Again, that'st only if it actually makes a difference...

Will update then!

:thumb2:thumb2 In all honesty I would sling the bike back at BMW if they do not fix it, have you emailed BMW HQ about this, if not you should.

My 1250 is pretty rough at idle and does a pop consistently somewhere between 3800-4200 rpm in each gear, having taken it back to BMW and been told there's nothing wrong I'm not hugely impressed.

That said, it still seems to pull pretty well so maybe it's just the way it's supposed to be and I'm just being too picky.

Aberdeen are shite, better taking it to Dundee. Had my 1200 in to Aberdeen 3 times and still not fixed.. the first 2 times they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it, the third time they advised it was the cam sensor, but ended up changing the plugs and and coils. When I first had the bike (2015) it ran really smoothly until about a year ago. As long as you are riding it like you stole it is fine, but the minute you have to ride it at sensible legal speeds in town especially(3,000 revs) it is a bag of shite.I bought the bike from Dundee, so I am assuming as it used to run smoothly from them they will know how to set it up properly.

Are they not the same company, or just have better mechanics in Dundee....:beerjug:

Same parent company but just different staff I imagine. Aberdeen only have one tech for bikes at the minute anyway which makes life a bit more difficult if you want a second opinion...
