Hi
My seat was fine but how now passed the broken in period and hurts my coccyx after an hour or so (12K miles).
I spoke to a BM dealer and he said there's no heated Comfort seat option for the Adventure but are ones for the non 'A' and they are exactly the same, so I bought the heated Comfort high seat.
It looks quite different along the back, it's a lot thinner and leaves a huge gap at the back, putting it in the high position sorts this.
I normally have the seat in the low positions and this is approx 37 1/4" high, this seat is an inch lower which is weird when it's classed as a 'high' seat.
Are the 2 bike seats the same?

Could you not have gone for one of these from Wunderlich:

Yep, my wife’s bike is the same.

Seat is much better though.

Ive the comfort heated rider and pillion seat on my GS. My wife found the pillion seat unbearable, her words "Most uncomfortable bike weve ever had".
I bought a standard pillion seat and she finds it a lot better. I find the comfort riders seat just ok, if anything i think its too soft, a mistake a few maufacturers seem to make. I'm keeping an eye out for a standard riders seat for myself.

My comfort seat is a lot firmer than the stock seat, it only arrived today so not ridden with it yet though.

The rear seat has a choice of two positions, depending on if the front seat is in the low or high position.

Thea rear seat has only one position on my 21 GSA.

My 2016, 2018 and current July 2021 built GSAs have all had / have two position rear seats. The forward position is for then the front seat is in the low position and the rear position is for when the front seat is in the high position.

When you look at the locking and locating cutouts in the bikes subframe, they all have two positions the seat can be located in. Forward and aft.

I've got both a GSA standard seat and a GS comfort seat. Both are post 2018 seats.
I noticed exactly the same as you i.e. thats there's a gap at the back of the GS comfort seat. The seat heights are the same on both of mine ( GSA standard vs GS comfort) in terms of how my feet touch the ground. The difference is that the GSA seat has a raised section at the back which makes it a snug fit to the passenger seat whereas the GS comfort seat doesn't.
I thought there was an error somewhere until i checked the handbooks and then it made sense. The GSA standard seat is designed to be used in the hi/low positions but no ability to move the passenger seat forward because its snug. The GS seat because its lower at the back also enables you to have the passenger seat in its rear position or a forward position which covers the gap.
I find the comfort seat a lot better comfort wise so i tend to use that most of the time.

I would agree 100% that the stock GSA seat causes Coccyx pressure and pain.

I went for a heated Sargent for my 2019 GSA, quite firm yet comfortable and supportive.

I wanted one that uses the bikes OEM heated elecs and controls, I think the Wunderlich has its own wiring and relay etc.

Website says it uses the bikes controls for the heating as far as I can tell.

[edit] Read your other post where you notice what I just said!

Sergeant seat….

Love my riders seat, and the wife doesn’t complain about the pillion…..

I think you'll find the rear seat has two positions.
If you look at the hole that the front of the rear seat latches into, you'll seat it has slots both forwards and rearwards for locking the seat into position, i.e. when you insert the seats locating peg in this hole you can either push the seat forwards or rear wards to lock it into position.

From your description of your comfort seat I think you may have the low comfort seat. My mate has this on his 1250 which he loaned me to try out, I found that in low position it left a large gap between the seat and the tank, and in high position it left a large gap between the front and rear seat.

Best position I’ve found is high front, low rear. That seems to be a flatter seat and it doesn’t drop me in to the tank.

Do you know if the front Wunder seat will fit with the OEM std pillion seat?
They don’t say in their website.

Yes it does, I have the Wunderlich Low seat on my R1250GS with the OEM rear seat.

I ended up buying the Wunderlich seat and really disappointed that it's no better than the OEM seat, 40 mins riding and my coxis starts to hurt, do these seat have a break in period?if not then I'll have to send it back :-(.
