GSA 2 Year ownership - keep or PX for new deal?

I had this problem in July and decided to replace my 15 plate TE with a new Exclusive, as far as I am concerned it was the right choice as the Exclusive is the best GS I have had. It's got the best gearbox, shift assist pro and seems quieter! Plus I am getting to like keyless which I didn't want:cool:

The only thing I can't make my mind up on is the new ESA, still not sure it's a step forward, time will tell??

Unless you are doing lots of miles, take out the warranty and keep it.
The latest bike has a better gearbox, worse fuelling, worse ESA and the extra toys are just that.
If your bike is standard, get it hilltopped and fall in love with it again for a couple of years, then change.

Do it. The current bike is awesome, the older ones are shit.:rob:D

I took my last base model GS 2 years ago on the 2.9% deal. It was due for the warranty to be extended and due the 12k service, so I traded in for a new GS te with the free panniers as my local dealer discounted the new bike quite heavily to tempt me to change. I was quite keen to have all the extra te bits as well.

It would have been cheaper to keep my existing bike and if it was the same spec as my new one I probably wouldn't have changed.

I was quoted my bike (2015GSA TE with 16k on the clock) + £7200 for new one with the same spec.

I was ready to take one with £5k but £7k it's too much for colour change

Just what magic is variable valve timing going to bring? Cant see it being a big leap in performance on a boxer twin. DVT Ducati is just different, not faster. Apart from extra complexity and weight and bulk (that the gs needs less of..) be suprised to see 10bhp more. Spend the money on good tyres.

When it gets to that half way point of £7k to change. You may as well keep it, wait another year and buy the new one as well.

Use the older one as a scrapper for off-roading and Winter Bike.

Use the new one for nice shiny posing and such like.

I've bought a 2017 (made in 2016) GSA and my mate has a 2014 GSA. I'm curious as to what the difference is between the ESA, has both have it?

Had a 15 plate GS TE, and was in the dealers for it's end of warranty inspection. So im' kicking my heels for an hour
waiting and sees this 66 plate GS TE Triple black with the same mileage as the 15 plate.
So I ask the dealer how much to swap, £400 to clear the finance, and works out at £5 less a month plus a 2 year warranty
I am well pleased

So is that a new PCP or finance deal then ? 2 or 3 year contract starts again sort of thing ?

No difference, as it is the 2017 GS model that has the GEN2 ESA.

I'd keep it and wait for the beta VVT model, thats what Im planning on doing and will stick with the GSA or there is an outside chance an RT, not the GS.
