GSA 2015 Heated Grip Query

Hi

Been out for a spin today as the sun was shining and activated the heated grips. Stopped at a Mucky D's for a coffee and returned to the bike. On firing up I noticed that the heated grip indicator on the dash was displaying the last setting they were in.
My query is: I'm sure last time I used them when the ignition was switched off it turned the grips off and I had to switch them back on. Maybe my memory is playing tricks There is nothing specific about this in the owners manual other than if you are riding at low engine speed and the charge level is low the grips are turned off to ensure the battery's starting capacity.
Anyone any observations on this?

My grips stay at whatever setting I last used them, on or off. 2015 GSw.

BMW realise that most people with GS's are senile, so this saves them having to remember to switch them back on!

If you had to reset them every time you restarted the bike someone would moan

There is an article in issue 32 Jan/Feb Adventure bike rider referring to after market heated grips. they are all better than the BMW crap the fitted on 2013/14 GS bikes. Even the cheap ones at £30 out perform.

BMW should hold their head in shame!

Thanks everyone. Seems that senility is creeping up on me . Got to say the grips seem ok to me. Quicker heating up than the Oxford aftermarkets fitted to my previous FJR.
