GSA 30 Years Anniversary Deals ???

I don't understand it, I paid 14K for my 2000 Softail Deuce with stage one and a short cissy bar, that's 10 years ago FFS

Class bikes or almost any NEW high capacity big bikes are not going to be cheap, back in 79 my best man had a BM R90 s and every body thought shit there expensive at the same time I was running a Laverda Jota and yes everyone thought expensive, nothing has changed FFS or am I mising something :rob

Best regards Stretch :)

No you are not missing anything...

Two different worlds; consumer or non consumer. As GerryC said to me last week, "us consumers all have two lids Richie, only people like you are happy with one..."

Saying that, I may well buy a new lid in a week or two, after all I have had mine since 2001........

I think that's a fair deal based on the 15k plus list price (with all the bits excluding panniers). Then it depends if you a have a p/x or not, if you don't you can try and stretch a bit more.

Thinking on it seems to me that BM have managed to get some pretty hefty price rises into the system by adding on new "essentials" like ESA, ASC Tyre pressure information etc etc as IIRC a top spec 1200 GSA about 3 years ago was £11k.

And while the world is in recession, allegedly.

There again, another way of looking at it is that at least the extras are options you can choose not to have.

In 1995, an R1100GS was £9,426 OTR. That is equivalent to £14,000 now (using RPI). It was 80% of average earnings, a GSA is 65% of average earnings now. So £14,500 for a fully kitted GSA doesn't sound so bad in comparison.

Ummmm - No. Not the photographer either. I am of course THE Paul Wakefield - just not the one you had in mind. :D

Im glad i got off the gravy train too :bounce1

pity i went and spent the difference on a new Hog though :blast

Because anything else is less :D:D:D:D:D

Wierd being back on a GS - Like riding a bendy bus but the new motor sounds perky compared to my 09 GSA - nice to be back in the fold ! - even with you lot :beerjug:
