Oh we'll I bit the bullet and bought an Akraprovic exhaust for the GSA.

Second hand but never used, one of the BMW freebie ones ! Great guy who sold it to me , happy with price and sent out within a few days of purchase.

Fitted very easily , typical BMW build quality, the GSA was so easy to work on.

Must say though I am a bit disappointed in the exhaust sound ! With baffle out it does sound fruity but not that much more than the standard ! I know I will get a smidge more power but is it all worth it ? Not sure ?

Oh we'll !

I found the same, Akro nice sound but not that loud over the stock can. I can suffer the weight penalty as I am no lightweight either! Also, they take a bit more cleaning.

should have done your research first, its no secret that bm sales of the akro can plummeted when the tc came out,the standard exhaust note is good.a remus hexacone or akro makes the the bike quieter which i think is good for long trips.

It needs de-catted headers to sound really fruity :thumb

Even the standard can sounds quite nice with some open headers.

I wonder what the Akro will be like on the new GS.:nenau At nearly £900, it had better be night and day different:rob

I did my research but it didn't throw up how quiet the akro was ! Will never make a private dick lol !

I've got the standard can on my 2010 twincam and it sounds 'the Tesco's meatballs'.........!

I've thought about removing the cat with the 'long nose pliers' method but will it be too loud then? The other thing is once the cats been gutted there's no going back!

I remember reading a thread over on www.ADVrider.com where the 'Mercans' were all copmplaining that theit twin cams were all far too loud with the standard facory set up!

according to akras own blurb the bmw slipover can with the baffle out is exactly the same decibels (87) as the bmw stock can.
Imho it does soung fruitier though :D:D:D:D

I actually find the stock can a bit harsh. Have just fitted Akro can and am waiting for Akro decats to arrive next week . will be interesting to see and hear the difference !!!

Surely for that amount of money its headers and the can :nenau

I originally bought an Akra (brand new BMW version off Ebay for £340) before buying some decatted headers. Knowing what I do now I would have kept the standard can with the decatted headers as that's where all the advantages come from.
