GSA Aluminum Pannier Protective Film

Following a post in the Spotted A Deal section I ordered a set of Matt Black Protective Films in the Black Friday Sale from Signature Custom Designs and ended up getting them for 80 Euros instead of 140 . It was 14 Euros shipping so in all around £80 delivered . Shipping took 2 weeks from Cyprus and the protective films arrived in a protective cardboard roll . Fitting was very straightforward - it took longer to clean and prepare the panniers than it did to fit the protective film . I cleaned the panniers with proprietary aluminium cleaner as used for preparing aluminium prior to welding then some cleaning isopropyl alcohol solution . Application of the film was done using normal vinyl application fluid . All of these were bought cheaply off eBay along with a 3M Vinyl Felt Foam Squeegee Applicator Tool

How long did they take in total ?

Took about 90 minutes to clean the panniers (30 mins a box) , an hour to fit the film (20 mins per box) - so about 3 hours by the time I had got everything I needed to start and then tided up afterwards ;-)

To be fair, I don't ride the GS through winter so the luggage wrapping on mine are totally fine - I clean them with brake & chain cleaner & a microfibre cloth so the contact spray gets rid of the spring/summer dust/grime & then evaporates.
