Sorry - another 'bl@@dy hell - how much' from me ....

Now I know the panniers are around £500 as I sold them as soon as I got my free pairs on the last two GSA's I've had.....but thought I'd enquire as to a top-box cost after using one on a 1200 loaner lately and being surprised how useful it was over my tank bag (although can't get away from the 'courier' look).

I got the figure this morning and it includes frame, coding lock to ignition key, fitting and one ( that's ONE) shiny top box.

Anyone want to hazard a guess ?!

Got the figure this morning. Includes frame (to hold it...not the bike frame which should be included in this price...) and coding of ignition key, fitting etc.

Anyone want to hazard a guess ?

So - GSA top box with frame and key coding - any guesses ?!

....it beggars believe....

£500.07 on my quote from SBW before any negotiation! Ok expensive for the top box but for fecks sake £68.89 for the soft back rest.................

You could have used the ££ from the pannier sales and you would still be £500 into pocket.:comfort

Plenty come up second hand if you're that bothered about the cost new for around the £250 mark :comfort

I paid £300 inc the extra mounting plate, soft backrest pads and box being coded to the ignition key as a 'sweetener' when buying my bike. Looking at your quote, I'm damned glad I did.

I was to stingy when I got my new GSA last year.

I just transferred the givi top box and universal mouting plate from my old Triumph Tiger 955i.

Probably holds as much as the BMW box and even new must be less than £200.

£419 without pads.

I could have used the funds from the sale of the panniers......but then I wouldn't have the big shiny BBQ.......the panniers were good but they can't cook steak....

That's the reason for getting the quote really, to see whether the second hand ones were value for money.

Still not keen on the looks though.....

If it helps sweeten the pill, ride with the top box only. Looks awful but holds a lot AND the fuel consumption improves a fair bit compared with panniers.
