I've been cleaning the cooling fins for years on these bikes and it struck me to ask how others get it done. The GSA as you know has the engine bars in front of the fins and hence in the blinking way. I always end up resorting to using a tooth brush - has anyone found a simpler way to clean that area of the bike?

The Oxford two pronged brush from this set of brushes is the best I've found for this job.

If you want to get into the fins and engine front for a proper clean.
Spray with WD40 and leave for half an hour then work it over with a good quality 1"brush with long stiff bristles, none of your nylon stuff.
Then spray with S-Doc 100 and work over with the brush again.
Then wash the bike in your usual way.
After washing the bike, the engine gets a soaking of WD40.
I do this deep clean a couple of times a year after a big trip, 5 years and 40,000mls, no corrosion at all, a few stone chips scattered around but no corrosion.

This ...... except I sit on a cushion, use cotton (ear) buds and have a glass of bier or two while doing it :thumby:

Those brushes come in a set. Best money I've spent on cleaning equipment for bikes. Only regret is not buying them sooner.

I use those wooden sticks you get at McDonalds to stir your coffee with. Couple of those together then a microfibre cloth over them, use back to black and they come up a treat. Little labour intensive, can of beer by my side and you get great results.

Smallish paintbrush works here.
