Hi All,

I really am not keen on the covers on the GSA, i know they do a good job, however, i really would like a different style.

The plastic ones i had on the GS which i liked, dont fit the GSA, according to their catalogue.

Ive had a look on the NN and touretch sites but nothing takes my fancy, does anyone know of any black ones on the market for an 09 or can the originals be painted.:nenau

cheers

The aluminium Touratech ones come in black...

...and they also do the fibre-reinforced plastic ones....

I was going to start a new thread about this and saw this one.

I dropped my GSA the other day doing a tight uturn at the end of my back lane. I lost balance slightly and accidently braked too hard and I couldn't hold the bike from falling as I was riding my bike around. This lead to dropping it, it was still in 1st gear so the back wheel then started to drag the bike around. I managed to turn the engine off and with all my might lift the bike up embarassed as a young girl watched me unsure what to do. I then checked the bike over and to my amazement only the cylinder guard cover was marked and nothing else. I've checked and checked and still nothing else. I plan to buy another cover but they are £62 each :blast

Two things I will say - I may be interested in yours if they are for sale in mint condition that fit the 08 model or if not keep them on as they do an important job protecting not only the cylinder heads but the rest of the bike as well.

For much less than the cost of those, get your originals sprayed in satin black heat resist paint and while you are at it get the crash bars done as well. Just a thought...:mmmm

Early May

Now them ones i do like, any ideas when they are due out ?

From the web page "Available in early May ";)

Looks like a nice piece of kit, but I wonder about the mountings. If you read the PDF fitting instructions they warn that the spacers may shear if overtightened. If the mounting screw fits into the spacer just how resistant to an impact will they be ? I would like to see one up close to be sure its fit for purpose.

The originals are fit for purpose, my GSA rolled off the sidestand on a slope :blast and only the cylinder head guard and hand guard was scratched, no other damage to the bike.:thumb2
