Just fitting a GSA Tank to my 1100. The big tank has 2 extra hose connections, one on each inner flank of the tank - if you see what I mean? My original tank does not have these, are they for breather tubes? The parts computer in my local BM dealer didn't show these protruberances in the picture of the tank. Am I missing something?

Also, whilst in said BMW dealer I got plugs/filters etc. Asked for some oil - £53 for 4 litres of Castrol 4T! Declined their offer. What oil should I use, bearing in mind I'm heading off to Nepal so it'll get warm along the way. I thought GSs ran on any old crappy oil?

Thanks Alex. Seems you just need a piece of fuel-line between the two pipes. I'll get to it.

Oil - in warm climate, use 20W50 mineral oil. Persaonally I'd choose a brand name, and make sure it conforms to the spec quoted in your bike's manual (SJ, SG, something like that - look it up :) )

Then again, you could do a search and spend about a week reading everyone's different opinions on this :D

Don't forget to fit a Quick Fuel Disconnect to the crossover pipe, makes tank fitment much easier. You'll need the white right angles piece to the right if the pic:

Cheers for the info guys. Yep, that's the same oil my trusted mechanic recommended and I'll get those QR fixings too.

All sorted.
