GSA Fuel tank on the GS

Has anyone done this... pro's - con's,.. I'm not trading it in for a GSA but i would love to get more fuel capacity.

Have a search there are a number of threads about doing it. Pro's you get more fuel, cons you might actually be cheaper getting a GSA depending on what you get the parts for.

Put a small battery under the tank and use the old battery space for a fuel tank or bladder. There's also the space inside the RH side case. Scratch that, Im thinking GSA.

Do you REALLY need it? I convinced myself I needed a bigger tank when I first bought my GS but in reality when I'm on long haul trips the GS will get around 55+ mpg fully laden and filling up at 180-200 miles is a good excuse for another coffee!

I have 33ltr tank on my GSA1200 and one of my buddies has a large tank on the very frugal GSA800 but will be stopping when the rest of our KTM990 riding buddies need juice. I reckon it's only an advantage when you're riding on your own or with identical bikes.
