Surprising - I thought the GSA screen would've been bigger...

2" higher in the midle
4" wider at the top
Somebody did a good deal on a brand new screen on this site. Is it worth £165 from the dealer:rolleyes:? We shall see after the trial. I was quiet happy with the standard screen but my pillion complained .

Ive just bought a wunderlich ergo screen deflector for the gs (also fits gsa) , ahead of my holidays. Not had chance to try it yet but had a lot of success with them in the past. Its very adjustable for height and angle, but the fitting instructions are flawed, they advised 4.5nm on the allen bolts which put a 1" crack in the wunderlich perspex lip. so would advise to be very careful fitting if you get one, and ignore the instructions!

Here's a bit of screen advice which may be obvious to most but wasn't to me.

A few weeks ago I bought a GSA screen for my GS. Once it was on, I went out for a ride, set the cruise control at 70mph and whacked the screen right up. The noise was less, but not as good as I'd hoped. After a few more tests at different speeds, I decided that the screen right up was the best option and left it alone.

This week however, I was fiddling again, and noticed that right near the top, the screen changes angle significantly, and goes from upright to a bit laid back. So I tweaked the screen down just a quarter of a turn and lo-and-behold, noticeably less noise. I know screen results are different for different people, but for me, just tweaking the screen back to more vertical - maybe 10% of the range from top - made a big difference and now I'm happy with the noise and the expense.

:rob

On the subject of screens, my original GS screen has 1cm long cracks in all directions from the top 2 mounting holes. They weren't visible on the bike, but I guess they might have become so over time. I'm expecting the same thing or worse on the flappy GSA screen.

Hi all
I had a new screen fitted under warranty for exactly this issue only the crack was visible on my 2013 After 3000 miles I then covered a further 8000 with the new one with no issues. I've now got the 2014 GSA and the screen is far more flimsy so will see how that fares.
As far as wind protection / noise it seems just the same as the 2013 I am 5-11 and the height is fine for me but did expect the GSA to be quieter but it's not.
Love the new bike though

Terry
