Ive ridden a number of bikes but there is very little that comes close to the specifications of the GSA.

Im not much of a traveler but I do like to play. Its not like I wont travel in the future though.

I have a WR450 in Supermoto and Enduro trim currently, but its not worth much on a road longer than 100km. My fiance also hates the seat.

I love the Hp2. Its different. It also offers nothing in the pillion department for her.

The GSA just is in league of its own. Ill never compare it with the 990 as they dont even come close in terms of build quality and features. The 990 can be ridden more aggresively though. (never have seen a Gsa ridden like a mx bike)

If I keep the WR450 I still have a toy. Should I rule the Hp2 out completely and go with the GSA?

The new models are nice. But I have my doubts. What year model GSA is the best bang for buck?

In terms of all round capability, it's hard to beat the GSA - you can do 1000 mile days and still take it off road, 2up! That being said, I've done the same with my HP2 as welL although 600 was the limit for a day on the HP. If we didn't regularly do long trips. The HP2 would probably be better because there is so much more you can tackle off road. But if you're going to keep WR then the GSA will prolly give you more - great distance capability and very capable 2up in all conditions.

On the road wheels. Surprisingly capable. Have toured Ireland and France 2 up on the HP. We have pannier rails that take GSA panniers, they also strengthen the subframe ( total payload for an HP is less than 200 kilos which is not a lot when you'vea dded two riders in full kit!)

On dirt wheels of any substance... stopping starts to become a bit of an issue... Full loaded, 2 up, and the size of the HP make for a lot to make stop on a skinny dirt rim DAMHIK!

So it really comes down to how much you want to do 2 up. If she's keen and you want to as well, I think the GSA is a better bike. If it's only occasional, then he HP will be a lot of fun.

We don't ride the HP much 2 up anymore because we have the GSA as well.
