GSA LC spot light protectors - 2 designs, any opinions on which looks the best?

Hi Guys, I`ve got 2 designs of spot light protectors, would any one wish to offer an opinion on which looks the best?

Over engineered as always - no slits where the bends are and out of 2mm stainless so they can be reformed in a fall (my ali ones snapped).

great job..id vote for image design 1 , in black . it looks a finished article where as image 2 doesn't …just my 2ps worth

Don't like either option........really really don't.

Light guards (to me anyway) should surround and protect the light.....those appear not to.

The fingers of the cage look like just that....stubby little fingers, and to me at least, would not inspire confidence.

I also don't like the spread on the mounting.......it feels like the whole assemble would squish up IYSWIM.


I know I'm not in the market for a set Mark, but I truly don't like either the appearance or the engineering /protection functionality of those, sorry

Are they genuinely designed to protect or just look the part?

Realistically, how many lights are going to get bashed? The whole light assembly seems to be proud of the crash bars, a bike going down and sliding at speed will rip the whole light fitting off, no question. A bike just being dropped in a car park, probably won't make too much difference either way.

It rather sums up why I gave up with GS's; too much 'stuff' on them.

Leaving the practicality debate aside and taking it from an aesthetics point of view they don't match with any of the design on the bike, at least any I can see from the pictures.

In the second picture there is a view of the cylinder head and from that angle I'd say if the lines of the head were mirrored by the guard it would look much better. My opinion is that the guards look more 1100/1150 ish in so far as they are curved when the 1200's are more angular which is causing a clash between the bike and the guard more than complimenting each other's design.

As usual though good quality.

Ah a mixed bag of opinions - fantastic, that's the brill thing about the forum. Always it's down to individual 'likes' and I've seen many people like one thing but many people not! Thankfully and as usual you guys have helped - I also think design one is the better. As for the good and bad points I agree with them all!

You are oh so right, some of the stuff on our GS`s are really unnecessarily simply bling and without a doubt a decent crash will see the guards and lights straight off.

Seemingly a huge market (right or wrong) has developed over the add on`s to our bikes but I can see why you have given up on GS`s if you feel they have too much stuff on them - once again personal preference

yep nothing added reduces the weight. And I can remember the MOD Lambretta mirrors................
