Just acquired an 1150 adventure but having problems with SWMBO. Let me explain. My dearest other half is only 4 foot nine inches tall and does have a knee problem, therefore mounting the beast is very problematic for her. I have been requested(ordered) to get this sorted. Does anyone know of a footrest lowering mod.:hide

Put the bike on the centrestand, remove the top box.

Use top box to aid installation of wife.

Attach top box on original mounting position.

Remount motorcycle and perfect the "rock" to remove bike from centrestand and ride off into the sunset :thumb

Alternatively, speak to a local fabrication firm to see if they can engineer a bespoke system. Nothing currently available would make much difference that I'm aware of.

hire a crane might help if not make a step of the side of the bike !:D

It might be worth giving Vern (Project VND) a call, I believe he may well be able to fabricate just what you need to reposition the rear footrests.

My missus isn`t quite as short but she has found mounting easier since I got a Givi top box with an additional rack on top. She can use the rack as a handle to help pull herself up

Thanks for the suggestions. Methinks she will have to make do for now.

If she starts complaining too much I will take the comfort bus (RT1200):thumb
