GSA boxes (probably on top box too) in MCW yesterday and spotted a small black plastic moulding with two holes in the bottom edge secured by a single ss bolt, just next to the rear lid latches. :eek Further inspection and a bit of head scratching.....................................found a small hole behind them into the pannier.

Only thing I can think of is that they are vents to equalise pressure in the boxes when you try and open them after having been up in the mountains. Not sure if they might now create another problem though,:blast as there is no apparent seal on the vents, and as they are only held on by a single bolt, so can be easily be moved allowing water into the panniers.:augie

I think i'll stick with the sealed oned for now. Easy enough to break the seal by leaving a bit of string over the lip before you close it.:thumb2

The holes are to let the water in. You wouldn't want the panniers to be air tight otherwise the bike would float away and not gain traction when doing that all important river crossing :augie
