I own a R1200GS '08 that use without problems, if I put regular ohlins shocks (BM436+BM437) in the GSA the height of the GSA will be equal to the GS?

some have experienced?

I've never measured it, but the standard GSA seat feels to have a thicker padding than the GS, from new, the low gs seat fitted to a GSA makes the gsa the same height if not a little lower than the 'budget' GS.

If you can try and keep the standard GSA shocks fitted, it allows a much plusher ride quality whist maintaining cornering clearance IMO

I'm a shortie (5' 9") albiet a widey at almost (19st):augie

I've a standard GS with standard seat and like yourself no issue with height with my 29" instep... I'm just back from Spain where I rented a 12GSA with low Touratech seat and was lower than my GS.. after 1500kms over 4days I felt a little too low and could have done maybe with GSA seat on low setting???

hope this helps...

Mine is a 2006 GSA but I have the Ohlins units you quote fitted, along with a lowered Sargent seat and it suits my 5' 8" frame well (and is very comfy).

I still find myself adopting a motocross-style foot on peg at junctions etc but more of a throw-back to when I had to, rather than having to now.

Do it, fit them now and you won't look back!!!

Yep similar problem, with a 29" inside seam.

Riding Adventure with TT LDC seat on it's lowest setting and a set of Daytona M Star Boots, bike on a standard settings. Plus the suspension will probably 'settle' with a few more miles.

Cheaper solution than a set of Ohlins.

Hope that helps.

Andy,

Can you post or send me ([email protected]) some photos of the bike?

You feel any loss about road clearance compared to the OEM suspension of the GSA?

Thanks.

06 GSA 5'7" with low sargent seat and no problems at all, cheaper than ohlins and you get higher comfort level than the standard seat.
