Hi all,

As per my normal situation, went to go to work this morning on my new bike ive got a puncture. Normally I would ride it in, if possible ( not in this case ) or take the wheel out and take it to a tyre fitter for repair ( as per the thread at the mo regarding a plug )

However as my new bike is a 09GSA im a wee bit worried about the rim being damaged, with this in mind im considering calling out BMW assist to remove the wheel and take it for repair and to refit it, not because im lazy, but if there is any damage to the rim they would be responsible.

Do you think im being paranoid after reading other threads about GSA rims being damaged, I just want to ensure im not left with a damaged rim.

Had a couple of tyre changes and no problems with damaged rims (at least that I've noticed). I didn't take the wheels to a BMW dealer, just made sure the fitter knew about the TPM (if applicable in your case).

Jeez mate, you really are paranoid:eek:

Why are you worried about the rim being damaged? If a tyre dealer damages it whist changing a tyre because the ham fisted monkey has made an error, they will be responsible. I must have had 8 sets of tyres fitted either at a tyre depot or by myself with no problem.

It will cost you an absolute fortune for BMW assist to do it so I would take the wheel off, and run it down to a reputable tyre dealer who will fix the puncture. Probably cost you about £20.
