I've been unlucky enough to have one of the wee bolts on my screen go awol. Would anyone know where I could get one without having to pay a fortune for delivery or waiting yonks from the main dealer?

This site has them but they want at least £12 delivery!!

Haven't had any joy on that auction site either. Any pointers or if any of you have an spares lying around that you'd be willing to throw in an envolope would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Your dealer will likely have some in their parts bin. It is so common on all BMW bikes that I'd be very surprised if they couldn't supply you on the day or one day delivery.

Get yourself a stainless allen bolt, 6mmx25mm I think. Much much easier to screw in and out and far easier keep a grip on. Otherwise any torx bolt of the same dimensions.

If it's anything like a standard GS screen screw, it'll be flanged. I'm sure the GS uses a 5mm screw, possibly 4mm, but not 6mm - that's 1/4" as near as damn it. Not at home so I can't check. a2stainless.co.uk are my fastener supplier of choice.

You're right, it's 4mm. But it's the flange that makes them fiddly and almost impossible to grip in the confined space behind the screen.

If the screen mounts in the same way as the standard GS, it's simply remove one screw each side then it lifts off the mounting blocks.
