Hi

Was looking at the new GSA yesterday and think the screen looks far better.

If it is and I want one for my 1200 (presumably it will fit) does anyone know how long before it will come available on its own?

I want a ride on the GSA to test the screen out.
I think there is going to be a long queue for these screens and gurny flaps!
How many GSs are there on the road?

I imagine it'll be available straight away. Are you going for the little Gucci side screens as well?
I enquired about the availability of the "side screens", yesterday. They're on the fiche but listed as Not Yet Available, with no indication of when they will be. I didn't check but I suspect the same is true for the Adventure screen and the additional mounting hardware.

GSA screen

I went to see the new GSA1200 & the K1200GT at Vines on Saturday and was quite impressed with both bikes although I doubt if I could reach the floor on the GSA as I only have a 29 inch inside leg measurement. I must say I thought the screen on the GSA looked very impressive with or without the side deflectors. It looked as though it would fit straight on a GS with the extra cross bar. Even if these parts are not available yet does anyone know the costs that would be involved (BMW parts prices!!!!). Its just I had been thinking about getting 'tobinators' and now wander if a GSA screen might be a better option. Not so sure about the side screen deflectors though as that would mean drilling holes in the body to secure them!! So I think it is down to cost and wind improvement/buffeting. I will try sitting on a GSA when there are not so many people about and if I can reach the floor may try one just to see the difference in wind blast. The standard GS screen isn't too bad, its better than my old bike but no where near as good as the RT I tried when I got the GS. I know I won't get wind protection of the RT but would like to improve it a bit without spoiling the looks.

I test rode the new 1200 GSA on Saturday and can honestly say that although the screen does look great i don't think there was any less buffeting than my existing 1200 GS screen fitted with a Tobinator.Although i may not be a very good judge as i've not really been too bothered about the buffeting problem anyway.

Dave, I have swung a leg over, also only 29 in leg.
Can get my tiptoes down in jeans, with walking boots on.
I could probably ride it like that with a bit of practise, but a lot of guys on here with the dreaded 29inside leg, have been muttering about fitting either the standard gs seat or the lower version, i got a quote today to get the seat as a standalone from Park Lane for £126 +VAT

GSA seat height

'scottykm' I doubt if I would get a GSA as I never ride off road and the only thing better on the GSA apart from the screen (to be proved) is the larger fuel tank, very usefull for trips to Europe!! Still hope to tryone as well as K1200GT and R1200S. Still love my GS though.

Dave
