Does anyone know if a standard sargent seat is lower than a standard GSA seat

I have a GSA and it is about 1" to tall for me to get both feet down flat comfortably

I was going to get a standard GS seat because I was under the impression they were not as thick as a GSA .I have now been told they are the same :nenau

Any comments welcome

i have a standard hieght 1200gs sargent seat on my gsa
and i reckon its about 1 or 2 inches lower.
i had it on my 1200 before getting the adventure.

Standard sargent seat will bring you down 1 inch on the stock GSA seat, also its a different shape and wont push your balls against the tank the way the stock seat does. My mate has a GSA and was going to order a lowered sargent until I let him try my standard sargent, he's ordering the standard now.:thumb

It is lower, my mate who is a vertically challenged 5' 8 can ride my GSA with the sergeant seat fitted.

How tall are you? I'm 5'9" with a 30" inside leg and I found the standard GSA seat too tall and uncomfortable. I ummed and arred about a replacement seat and finally went with a low sergeant. It can be put on two settings with the higher of the two pretty close to a normal GS seat with the lower about 1" lower. Cushioning is good and you can alter how you sit by having the back higher than the front and vice versa. In my view if you are finding the standard GSA too high the low is the way to go.

Also if you are not sure, as suggested see if you can meet up with someone on the board and try theirs. I'm in Cambridge so am probably a bit far.

On a separate note I have always found the sergeants to be really comfortable and to last well.

They also sell very well secondhand if you change bikes.

In short I couldn't recommend them highly enough!

Or go for the cheaper option of getting the original seat lowered and have better cushioning at the same time for about £70 from the bloke in Huddersfield .....yes I have forgotten his name but someone will be along soon with the details.

Much cheaper and just as good..and fast if memory serves.

Cheers

Hi all, just created an account to ask a question that is just the opposite to the common problem discussed here... bear with me...

I have owned two GSAs, always ridden on the ESA's highest setting (hard terrain...) I am vertically challenged too... I am 6ft7... and the GSA has been the only comfy bike I have found so far... where I can park my very long legs comfortably...

But.... it's a big bike for commuting in London, and this will be my only use for the next few years... (no more 10 days trips with my mate, down to Italy Croatia and so on.... kid on the way....)

So I have sold the GSA and am now in the market for a 2nd hand GS on the cheap... (well it's all relative with BMWs...). The only caveat is that I would like to have a GSA seat on mine... Does anyone know if it is possible? As well as raising the suspension???

Thanks for your answers.

Olivier

seat.

a standard gs seat will fit a gsa so would
assume a gsa seat will fit a gs.
