i bought the 1150 adventure with the standard seat and found it a lot too tall for me the answer, buy the lower seat for it which i have duly done, i have also had new commando type soles fitted on my boots giving me a bit more, i still dont feel 100% on it i am still only just on the the balls of my feet does anyone know where i can buy a pair of springs that will say drop it a further 25mm both shocks were replaced under warranty 3k ago so they have plenty of life in them yet. :(

tried the pre/load route but it doesnt make any noticeable difference, ive got to get this bike a little lower without really changing the shocks, and somewhere i have read that there is an option to purchase a set of springs that lowers the adventure that bit more but can i hell find it, i dont want to sell the bike its a great riding position for me

motorworks have updated the website which now includes the progressive lowered springs :)do i need any special tools to change them??

Alternatives

Hi Dave,
I was looking at the Hyperpro website, and they list a range of lowered springs, which seem to be about £85 each:eek:

Hope this helps
Neil

hi neil ordered a set from motorworks today not in stock but i should have them by next weekend apparently i am the first person to purchase these springs from them, and they (motorworks) have asked for some feedback regarding the fitting and if i found them suitable for my needs i have been a disabled rider for over 20yrs and have ridden all manner of bikes i really like the 1150 but actually test rode a 1200 which with the lower seat was ok, however after reading some of the tales/woes regarding that model i think i made the right decision:thumb NOW how does the springs come off what do i need/do i have to chock the suspension while i remove the shocks?

I fitted a set of hyperpro springs to my 1200 and they work fine dont bottom out cause they're progessive wound, bike settles down quite a bit when you put your weight on it, lowering the whole bike.the front shock is a bit futtery to take out but the rear ones handy.take them to someone with the right gear to change the springs over.
