I recall maybe 200 ish tops on my 1250 GS, so am assuming 300 ish may be doable on the GSA.

Does the extra bulk cause a noticeable drop in range & of course it's dependent upon throttle/load etc so after kind of normal circumstances.

I ask as I'll be using my GSA for fairly regular round trips of just under 300 miles to my folks & it'd be great if that return journey could be done all in 1..

Thx folks.

300 miles is easily doable with moderate use of right wrist.
With my bimbling about i can do a theoretical 396.4 miles.....
o_O

Regularly did over 500kms in the Pyrenees, Alps, Dolomites and Tyrol with luggage. Also included motorway miles in between.
I couldn't care less about consumption and ride it hard. Great distance machine.

Thanks chaps & over 300 miles would be ace!

I get 300 usually
When I fill up only takes 25/26 litres even though dash says zero to go?

Well it seems to last forever, less stops for fuel is always a bonus for me!!

Honestly can’t see me replacing the GSA size bike to a bike with the smaller tank and sheer size.
Now having a second bike for the quick rides out….would love that but needs a bigger garage and that means moving house.

If you want it to feel like a GS only stick 20 litres in it, theres not really that much extra bulk with 10 extra litres of fuel.

Admittedly you may notice it getting it off te sidestand but otherwise the bike runs and feels the same.

The size of the bike can be intimidating but its only a GS with a big tank. all the fairings are plastic and negligble in weight.

Apart from 4 months on a R650 Dakar, when i passed my test, I've for the last 12 years always had a GSA, having that fuel range appeals to me.

Good luck with your new bike (y)

I always seem to leave filling up to the last minute - white line fever i don`t like stopping.
I regularly see just a few miles left on the TFT, last weekend it was four miles to go, the least i`ve seen is 1 mile. It makes for an exciting (nervous) last 10 minutes!

Does anyone know how far you can go after the TFT says zero range left?

My GSA averages 52mpg…..multiply by 6.6 gallons and there is your range. I’ve never done much over 300 miles before filling up as I wouldn’t like to get to the dregs in the bottom of the tank and potential get dross into the injectors or whatever, but that’s just my own instinct/opinion.

Ive had the GSA too before in 2013 so happy with the bulk..

I take my car to zero range regularly, so will inevitably do the same with the GSA.

I know that my GSA warning light comes on at 50 miles left and it still takes @ 7 litres!
You mean there`s still 7L left in the tank when the fuel warning comes on?
Is this TFT display or...?

When my TFT says `low fuel` it says 45/50miles left.

I do the same on my 2016 GSA 😆

i get 56mpg regularly, although on a long motorway trip with speeds around 90 this drops to around 40mpg.

I’ve a 2021 GSA (40 edition), I commute 55miles each day (total trip), a mixture of motorway and A roads, I use cruise control and stick to the limit (get paid to ride and drive like a loon). My average is currently 54.46mpg, and range is 359 miles. Fill up on way in for shift 1, then on the way into work for the 7th shift is when I fill up.

Knowing I can go for almost 2 weeks without filling up is a massive bonus for me. Yes I realise there are many variables (heavy right wrist, headwind, etc) but I’m happy.
