I complained about the gearbox on my GS WC after the very first ride home last May. I was the one who posted a video of bad gear changes and got slated for poor technique/bad riding etc. Well BMW are giving me virtually the full amount I paid for the bike against a new GSA, finally a real result :) Thanks to Andy at Southport Superbikes for persevering.
I paid £14,500 for the bike with wire wheels and a top box, they are taking it back and I'm paying £1k for a new GSA TE, so I have to say, I'm happy with that deal, as the GSA is £15,350.

I test rode the new GSA today at Southport and the gearbox is vastly improved. The stationary clonk into first with the lurch forward has gone, I could easily pull up at a junction and just slip into first, neutral was easy to find. I was really giving it some and could change up without fear of missing a gear.
The gearbox now feels like my TC which although not the worlds smoothest never made me worry/think about changing gear, I could just enjoy the riding.

The whole package is fantastic, the look, the feel, the engine and the handling. There's criticisms on here already but I really liked it.
I put the seat on high, I have a long body but short legs. Comfortable riding position and yet I could reach the ground easily, shorter riders will be able to manage much easier than before.
Really amazed at how much better it is than my GS. Can't wait to get mine swapped and start enjoying riding again.

Wyreflyer,
Glad you got a good result.
Still I would love to know why some of the bikes were fine and some like yours and mine had to be swapped out. Still I feel BM has done right by us.
Good luck with the new bike - Got mine! :aidan

I rode it straight after you David, think you left the seat too high for me, just when paddling round at least.

Was very impressed, the only thing missing was the grin I had when I got back on my 800GSA. :D

Like the picture ;)
