You should go the whole way Rich and acquire the following:
Additional top box, preferably black fibreglass with a lid which doesn't quite fit
One red bungee
One green bungee
One plastic look blue tabard
Take your extra black top box and secure to pillion seat in front of existing box with the red and green bungees, put on blue plastic high viz and ride like a twat!

I think I'll stick with the US30 on the XR. I can always strap my US10 on top, if needs be. The luggage rack arrived on Saturday, and isn't light, so by the time I put the square topbox on that, then load it up with sandwiches, I'd be concerned about instability at speed.
Nutty ,it's not a GSA so don't stick a GSA top box on it .I had a KTM 950 SM and needed a top box to carry my Dr's bag , put a small KTM top box on it which looked fine but still fecked the handling over 80 , so soft bags way to go just my 2p

One of the guys on the XR forum put one of those extra large top boxes on his bike (the ones that take 2 helmets), then wondered why the bike wouldn't handle very well over 130mph!
The BMW soft bag is pretty good and the big one is feckin mahoosive and plenty big enough for weeks away !
