GSA - Unrideable in the Rain!!

I'd appreciate fellow GS riders opinions on this.

I'm new to the GS fold but have been riding in all weathers for 20 years or so and this i the first time I'm avoiding taking the bike in wet weather.

My last ride was on a warm day, during the day but in torrential rain on the motorway. This is never fun but on this occasion the rain just stuck to my visor and didn't clear and the screen height made no difference at all. I couldn't see anything, it was very very dodgy.

So, my question is how do you folks cope? Does it need a taller screen so I can ride with the visor up? I use an Arai Quantic, do helmets help?

I have some Nikwax visor spray but really need to solve this problem before the dark nights are with us, any help appreciated!!!

You're all being a bit childish, I can sympathise with the OP.

OP, was It you I passed by somewhere near the Forth Bridge? It was wet. I suggest spiting on your visor and rubbing it in.

Was that to stop misting/up of the inside or to dispel rain on the outside?

Two very different problems.

I just knew it worked to stop misting on the inside, so thought it would be sensible to try it on the outside too. He's nothing to loose.

The biblical onslaught will wash whatever smear of saliva remained away, in very short order. That said, spitting on the outside and rubbing will (if doing nothing to reduce misting) will at least (sort of) clean the visor….. or rub grit in.

Ffs, we still chatting this??!! lol
I actually feel bad for the op cause you’re all being total dicks (probably me too).
Anyway op, I’m close to Edinburgh occasionally if you want coffee or take a swing?! 🤣🤣

I use a low screen so have plenty breeze on my visor.

But, I once left my air vents open and that let rain inside my helmet. Never again .

Ensure visor is water tight.

Generous coating of Rain X.

As above, turn head left and right to let the rain blow away.

It’s fuckin’ Scotland man.

Who is going to own up and admit to being drunkenmonkey? A long established member on the wind up is my guess.

Ride a gs in the rain? Are you mad? You'll be riding it when it's cold next. Philistine!

I was thinking the same. Wouldn't by any chance be a former employee at a call centre having imbibed too much at Sid's....or his tall associate 🤔

Three large glasses and bed wetting I heard.
Nothing worse than a soggy sleeping bag.

I never thought to wipe my visor or turn my head. 20 years on the roads and it never occurred to me. I'm obviously the idiot.
How tall are you?

I have a similar issue (not as bad) on my hexhead adventure, I’m 6’3”.
On my other bikes air flow would help clearing the visor.
On the GS my head is positioned perfectly within a “void” are on the visor, while the top of the helmet is hitting the wind vortex creating all sort of noise issues (that I battled for ages).

On the GS, in some cases (lots of spray) it gets fairly annoying.

As someone suggested it’s the lack of airflow. Just decide if you wanna expose your visor to airflow (lower screen) or go the other way round with extensions.

I use an extension on mine and improved slightly the rain issue… and improved greatly the noise issue :)

Apologies if it's already been covered (I'm too lazy to go back through all the comments) but has anyone ever tried a product like this on the visor?

EDIT: It's not something I need, but thought it might help the OP.
