GSA Upper Crash Bar Removal Question

Hi All

I managed to damage my upper crash bar in France (don't ask!) and intend to replace it. The bike is a 22 plate 1250 GSA

Apart from where it joins the lower crash bar it appears to be held on with only one bolt near the front indicator.

Does this bolt screw into a captive nut (I hope and think it does) or is there a loose nut hidden behind the plastic that needs to be held by a spanner?

They are all captive nuts on crash bars. Only exception is the join between the upper and lower which is a seperate piece that slides in between both upper and lower
