Has anyone found a cheaper alternative tank bag, as opposed to spending £180 quid on a BMW branded version, that fits the WC GSA. Just about to complete a trip of RDGA, into Italy and then Switzerland before retuning home this week end. I've got the Nav V but really miss the map pocket on a tank bag that gives you a better perspective of where you are in any particular country, as well as a little extra storage for passport etc...

The price you've quoted is for the Large version, BMW also offer a small version for around £100 it's similarly styled to the large version and has virtually the same features with less storage space obviously, I have one and it suits my needs for a tankbag.

I'm collecting my new GSA on Friday and I'm getting 15% discount on accessories.

I was lucky enough to find a small tank bag on here yesterday so I'm sorted but if you like I can still order the bag of your choice with a bit of discount for you :nenau

The BM tank bag is great, it fits well and doesn't foul with anything... the big down side for me though is that the map pocket is completely flat and just reflects light up into your face I got around the problem by stuffing a sponge ball in the pocket to deflect the top, but it does mean you can't really read a map through it any more :-o

Appreciate the feedback, thanks. I was aware there were two sizes for the GS but not aware there were two options for the GSA, so thanks.

Blues and twos, thank you for your kind offer, I will get into a dealer and just make sure it's exactly, or almost what I'm after. To save you the trouble I will try and haggle a 15% discount as well.

I think I prefer the BMW range as they are designed to specifically fit the tank size.

Cheers Gents, you just saved me about £70-80 :clap

I tried one of those 1st and ended up with a list of reasons it wasn't suitable... the main one being it fouls with the switch gear way before you get to full lock

Shame, it seems like a really neat idea though

On mine it only just touches the switch for the spot lights on the bottom of the left hand mirror and then only on full lock which I can live with. The ease of taking on and off, no straps etc and no contact with the paint work make it ideal for me ;)

yeah, it's a nice idea and if touching the flog light switch was the only issue I found, I'd have probably lived with it as well ;)

On my '13 GSW (not an Adventure) I have been very happy with a "tanklock" bag from Givi. This one is marketed as the " Xstream Range XS308 Tank Bag" and works very well. Keeps the inside dry even without the included rain cover. Far less expensive than the similar Bags Connection bag, at least here in the States.

I bought the TT tankbag as it has a large map pocket that overhangs the sides. Although I use a satnav I like a map as backup.

All you need to do is play around with the position of the receiver on the tank bag. On my Twin Cam GS it fitted perfectly, but fouled when mounted on my Twin CAM GSA. Simple solution, drill some new holes and move it backward (or forwards) on the tankbag.

tried all of that... it would have worked well on my old hexhead

Which bag did you have - no issues with the City bag on my GSA WC

Having had the BMW bag on my last Hexhead - I know which one I prefer :thumb2

That might be it, I think I had the GS bag, which is bigger... joys of buying stuff online... reseller was excellent in the way they dealt with it though, I just didn't have time to test lots of different bags that were all rated as fitting correctly

I think I mentioned that soapy water and some very fine steel wool will take the shine off of the map pocket and leave you with a non-reflective surface that makes reading maps a lot easier. Totally agree that its a pain when shiny although I find it hard to read the map on the go anyway - cant get my readers on over my helmet!!
