If it’s simply down to power plant , IMHO the Suzuki is in a different league to the Honda as it has huge midrange whereas the Hornet has all its power in the last third of the rev range .Been looking at these for my Mrs (she sat on an 8S on Tuesday). She had a z650 Kawasaki last (sold when she took a work contract 4 years ago). These 750/800 twins (this Suzuki, the MT-07 and the 750 Hornet) are light (typically just under 200kg) and have a low seat (under 800mm which is important for 'er indoors as she's 5'3"), and more than enough power for most usages (~90bhp) - enough power for a touring trip with me anyway! (esp if I take my Stelvio and I carry all the luggage)
I think the 750 Hornet has the edge tho, in price/performance/equipment and also has a longer warranty if you maintain a main dealer service schedule...
The Kawasaki offering (z650) is lacking now in comparison, and due a revamp soon I guess?
She was tippy-toes on the z650

I think these bikes are fab! Hopefully I will have plenty of chances to ride the Hornet when we get it!
I agree. The Suzuki 800 is a grunt fest.If it’s simply down to power plant , IMHO the Suzuki is in a different league to the Honda as it has huge midrange whereas the Hornet has all its power in the last third of the rev range .

It's a pity about the crashing and banging off the bumps in the rd; that's proberbly where the adv scores over it; and like you say with bikes like the new Honda bang on the money with an extra 2 cylinders and at least 30 hp more you would have love the Suzkuki a lot to open your pocket;; i'am glad you get to take these new bikes out from time to time Arsey;; i would be happy to be able to climb on anything these days; it's begining to look like it might be over for me.Took local demo out today

It only had 3 miles on the clock.
Nice riding position. Quite comfy with gentle forward lean.
Lovely motor and smooth quick shifter .
Suspension felt quite firm and not very compliant over bumps.
It’s only adjustable at the rear via a C spanner.
I felt a bit underwhelmed which was a slight surprise.
It’s very nice, BUT still nearly £2k more than the 8S now that the £800 deal has ended on the latter.
This TT is £9999 and I reckon about £1500 overpriced.
The new Honda CB1000F is only £600 more, has 122bhp and adjustable suspension at front and rear.
Don’t think they’ll sell many at £10k…..but if it was £8500, possibly quite a few more .
