How easy would it be to match the gearbox of a Guzzi to the driveshaft of either a mono or a para?

I like the proportions of the GS but prefer the look of the Guzzi engine.

Engine mounts etc. are easily welded but the fun starts when trying to match precision bits.

Wanted: A Guzzi engine to play with.

There was something with a Guzzi engine in it posted here a week or two back....can't remember what it was, but it may well have been into a GS frame :nenau

Maybe someone will remember who posted ut and be able to find it :thumb2

The last thing I saw was a BMW engine in a Guzzi frame.

a guzzi gearbox has a male splined shaft as output. bmw use a taper with a flange on.

tricky.

and since a guzzi frame is stiffer anyway.......

There's so many ways this thread could go... :augie

Actually i'd love to see the result of a Guzzi/GS mongrel. In theory it could be the best of all possible combinations. :bounce1

Why not just buy a Quota :nenau

I thought the couple I've ridden were pretty awful but there's no accounting for taste.

Wouldn’t it be a whole lot easier to tart a Guzzi up to look like a GS :nenau

I'd like to like one, if you know what i mean.
I have a fear (unfounded - coz i've never ridden a Quota) that would be the worst of both the BMW and a Guzzi. :blast :D

They are. I really wanted to like them but was disappointed.

i've ridden a couple of quotas. apart from their height, not helped by the way they lift off when you pull away, i thought they were ok.

even the prehistoric FI worked fine.

not sure i could live with the rusty square frame tubes though.
