Try designing a huge tourer with a 2 litre 8 cylinder engine that doesn’t have some similarities to the Wing !
It’s got to have a huge fairing with screen and lights and big enough to wrap around the engine block . Give it some aerodynamics so it cuts through the air as much as possible and it always going to look semi generic .
If they were simply copying the Goldwing you’d think they would have copied the latest model and not the one in your pic that was last sold in 2017.

No, I wouldn't...I've seen the odd review and video...I know they handle well. But I've not mentioned anything about handling. They're just 'not for me'. I don't like the look, the sheer bulk (yeah, it all disappears when they get going....) etc. Loads of bike handle brilliantly...way better than my ability....they're not for me either....(I had a 954 Fireblade back in 2006.....too extreme a postion FOR ME even back then so I know anything akin to it will be terrible FOR ME)

I understand your point of view and I’m of the same opinion. They’re just not for me. I have ridden both the 1200 and the 1500 versions and came away with the impression of a big lardy bike. Great for crossing continents but not really for the muddy back roads of the Dales. A sports bike wouldn’t be much fun on the muddy back roads either. This type of riding is my preferred day out. The trips I go on are similar type of roads too. So as you say, not for me.
