Out of interest have you ridden a modern Wing ?I hate these enormous behemoths...this one is no exception. Can't imagine it will do much, their main market would have been the states ?
I reckon you’d be surprised just how well a modern Wing handles .No...I haven't ridden a 30 yr old wing either. I don't doubt they ride just fine..they're just not my cup of tea. (I'm not a fan of big cruisers either...just my personal view)
No, I wouldn't...I've seen the odd review and video...I know they handle well. But I've not mentioned anything about handling. They're just 'not for me'. I don't like the look, the sheer bulk (yeah, it all disappears when they get going....) etc. Loads of bike handle brilliantly...way better than my ability....they're not for me either....(I had a 954 Fireblade back in 2006.....too extreme a postion FOR ME even back then so I know anything akin to it will be terrible FOR ME)I reckon you’d be surprised just how well a modern Wing handles .

I understand your point of view and I’m of the same opinion. They’re just not for me. I have ridden both the 1200 and the 1500 versions and came away with the impression of a big lardy bike. Great for crossing continents but not really for the muddy back roads of the Dales. A sports bike wouldn’t be much fun on the muddy back roads either. This type of riding is my preferred day out. The trips I go on are similar type of roads too. So as you say, not for me.No, I wouldn't...I've seen the odd review and video...I know they handle well.
