Thinking about some new gear and the new Hein Gericke Tuareg Rallye 111 Jacket looks pretty good. What I don,t like is the matching Trousers as I,m a fan of Salopettes which suit my shape better (beer gut). The only Textile Salopettes HG do have a silly feature where the "Bib" part is attached to the Trouser by a ZIP and dosen,t look to be to strong or practical. Firstly, does anyone have experience of the New Rallye 111 and secondly does anyone know who might do a good pair of Textile Salopettes to wear with the HG Rallye Jacket, Thanks,

hg gear

Hi, ive just bought the hg tuareg jacket, after much debate, changed my mind 3 times (grateful thanks to hg Portsmouth for putting up with me)I very nearly bought the bmw suit, but the trousers were a dissapointing fit , I didnt buy the hg tuareg trousers as i couldnt bring myself to looking a complete t*** I ended up buying the cruise2 gtx trousers in black and I think the whole effect is toned down a lot, havent had much chance to wear the gear yet (except around the bedroom) anyway I quite like the salopette idea for a better fit,and a bit more protection,hg stuff has always served me well in the past,Dave.

I have got the full Toerag suit.
I don't mind looking a tvvat as long as I'm a warm one.:D
The build quality is good, same as my old HG Toerag suit(1996).
It will be great once the colours have faded a bit, at present, as mentioned, they are a bit too much.....:P

Thanks Dave, I have the 2008 H.G. Catalogue in front of me and can,t seem to find the Cruise 2 GTX Trousers. Do they have the "detachable" Bib section like the Cruise Gore-Tex Performance Trousers. If they have, I don,t think I would like them. Can,t see the point of a detachable "Bib" as Trousers and Salopettes are totally different and to make a Hybrid is just building in another weak point. If this is the Type you have, lets know how you get on with them.
Thanks. Mike Tee.

HG gear

Me again, the trousers arent shown in the 08 catalogue, they are an updated version of the ones on page 21,yes,they do have a detachable bib,and the vents above the knee are a lot smaller. Just spotted the price label on mine and it says--cruise 11 gtx pants (I asume the 11 refers to updated and the gtx meaning gore tex) the tag no is 11691303218 . Not worn in anger yet so will see,I tend to wear clip on type braces which I find more comfortable ,so hoping that the zip on bib thingy will do the job, regards Dave.

Thanks for that Dave. Looking forward to a report after you,ve been caught out in one of July "downpores" we are having at the moment.

I like the Tuareg jacket.

BUT,it's a shame the the Goretex bit is attached to the thermal liner.

So if you want to use the jacket in the summer with the lining out,it will leak.

Great !!

Bought the trousersa couple of weeks ago, just before a trip to scotland. Needless to say they were given a thorough test and are waterproof.

HG trolleys

I have a set of the Cruise II pants - the older version, which had 2 sets of zips, one for the bibs and 1 for connecting jacket to trousers. This worked well, particularly in depths of winter. The trousers are very good - warm and dry and i have done about 12000m in them in the last year.

Hope it helps.
