H.I.D. lights - anyone got these?

anyone got one?

is it any good? my mate has a similar kit on his RT100 and its a massive improvement over the standard lights....

Not gone down this route but did research it as an option and found a conversion kit from these guys which might interest you.

I decided on additional lighting for a number of options, the main one being with a HID conversion you are still limited by the performance of the reflector in the headlight and what ever way you look at it additional lights give more output and the ability to provide more adjustment.

had already occured to me that despite spending the cash on HID they would still be limited by the effectiveness of the bmw reflector--

i just don't really want to fit extra lights. . . . .

anyone else fitted similar units?

OK, so mine is an 1150.

I have fitted two HID lamps to replace the standard H1 tungsten thingies.

That is both dip and main beam.

The light output is phenomenal, albeit the dip beam is still hampered by the less than perfect reflector. The main beam was alwaysa cceptable to me but is now much brighter, and throws further.

They are bolstered by BTBRs additonal lamps, fitted with PIAA super white 'bulbs' (they claim the same output as a 110W lamp). They are also very blue.

I scare rabbits, deer and even chavs in 206s.

And even better, I can see where I'm going at night.

extra lights- just another part to replace if i have a small off / prang...not that i'm expecting one.......but surely thats the kind of thing thats gonna get damaged?

and with the price running into hundreds i'd rather not spend that more than once. . . . .

Understand the point on potential damages to external lights, thing is from anything I had read even the best upgrade (HIDs) were still limited by the stock reflector.

As was mentioned on the other thread on lighting it is possible to fit 2 sets of top quality lights with a bar for less than £200, in the event of an off the positioning of the lights should limit damage.
