Hi Gang, pls help once more, just been given a touratech headlight cover (steel grill type) to fit on my 1150gs, but i have since been told they are not legal in this country. can anybody shed some light on this (i have tried other threads but came up with nothing so i am sorry if the question has been asked before). thanks again & all the best...cragrat.

Why!!!!!!

Had mine on for four years now, saved the head light twice.

I had my bike on show last week end at a bike safe day in Plymouth, it had the local Bike police lads looking all over it and no one had a problem with the head light cover or any other bits...

Stuff that! Fit it anyway! :thumb2 It's the cow catchers on urban offroader w*nkmobiles :mcgun that manufacturers are no longer allowed to fit as factory anymore.

Mwaaahahahahahahhahahahahahahah. Sorry, I just can't help myself, I loath urban offroaders with an irrational passion :o :D Burn them all! :thumb2 And then sink them.........

The only place I'm aware that they're not approved for is Germany. I've had one fitted for a while, but have noticed a fair bit of reflected light onto the screen at night. I used to take the old plactic one I had (still have somewhere) off when dark, but haven't bothered with this one.

a big thanks

hi all, i think you all have a valid point so i shall fit it & take a screwdriver with me just incase plod says "REMOVE IT". i think they look great & will defo help in case of flying stones etc. but it was just the possibility of a fine for having it on that was worrying me. thanks again gang, ride safe. all the very best...cragrat

Sethmopp is right.

The Touratech covers come with a warning that they are not legal because Touratech is a German company. The headlight covers are not type approved in Germany.

I have the TT clear plastic cover on my 1150GSA - but find that there is so much reflection at night (particularly from main beam) that I now take it off if I am likely to be riding at night.
