For those of you who are interested in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee or Military Aircraft, this weekend the CAA has restricted airspace over southern England for the M.o.D.
Some 85 military aircraft will mass over the English Channel and form two formations with nine Typhoon fighter jets open the event followed by the Red Arrows in their Hawk jets and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Lancaster Bomber, Spitfire and Hurricane).
The flight path is in a Northerly direction, past East of Bembridge, I.O.W. then over Selsey Bill, Chichester, Goodwood and on towards Windsor Castle.

Please see the URLs links for more information. The pdf file shows the flight path.

Airspace restrictions are from 0930hrs to 1130hrs and 0950hrs - 1150hrs.

This will be a great spectacle to see and will sound awesome as the two formations fly overhead. :D

Hope you all enjoy the event. :thumb2

Just occasionally there is some really useful information on this site. This is one of those occasions. Thanks for the info.

If....

they fly a straight line from Selsey to Windsor their flight path should take them over or very close to the Hogs Back cafe.....as it's quite high you may get a good view from there....so it looks like a trip out Saturday morning......:D

Rode past there today, not a good site to see anything, to many tree's...:D

The airspace clearance windows are fairly broad - does anyone know their accurate eta at Windsor?

P

10am for the loud show offs & 11:26 for the big pile up if someone sneezes in the cockpit ;)

"Weather permitting" naturally :D

I didn't know there was a cafe on the Hog's Back, all I can recall is a fast dual carriageway with a central reservation and yes lots of trees! :D

Where's the cafe? :nenau
For future tea stops, it would be useful to know its whereabouts. :thumb2

Good post Richard, thanks

Morning Mike,

Glad you like it mate. :thumb

I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing the aircraft fly over but its becoming more cloudy by the minute - Hope its still a go but it wouldn't surprise me if the event was aborted. :nenau

It's on the West bound side beyond where the link road to Godalming etc joins. Large layby with cafe on the edge of the layby.

Used to be a regular meeting point for car clubs etc and then the cafe ceased doing business, however I believe the cafe is running again.
