H777 Radios

yes .......I own a pair of these

They are ,so far, reliable and durable.

They are obviously made in the same humungus chinese factory as some big name radios

on a distance test they performed as well as kenwood professional radios

for £40 for the pair thats value for money

read my post on how to reprogram them ........buying from fleabay you will get them preprogrammed for weird foreign frequencies (462.5 is the start of an emergency service band, dont mess around up here)

at this price I dont care if they break

I tried to copy and paste the DAT file with the PMR frequencies and radio settings in here but it aint working..................sorry

i have a set, power output is around 3w rather than the 5w as claimed simply due to the voltage requirements.

range is about 5km in real world testing in rolling hills.

but be aware that in the UK the radios are over the licence free limit and operate on restricted frequencies, not that it bothers a lot of people.

check out transmission1 forum for more details on these radios

Thanks for all the replies guys. My mates went and bought the Mitex units so I have followed suit for compatability. Any ideas where to mount it on an 1150GSA ? I figured under the seat where the tool roll is. Maplin do a male and female conector to fit the removeable antenna so I am going to join these with some co axial cable and mount the antenna up top somewhere for better reception. I called Mitex and they said this was perfectly feesable and no need to have a ground plate etc as it is the original antenna I'm using.
Might clip it to the side of the topbox perhaps. Got to be better than lying flat underneath the seat.
cheers
Kev

Keep it upright if you can......easy on a GSA.
I adapted a mountain bike mobile phone holder. Get good reception and you can reach the controls.
Unclip and drop into the topbox along with the GPS when I leave the bike.

If you purchased the Mitex............

have a look at the reprogramming post for the h777 in here ..........it may well be the same which means you can

1) turn up the power
2) turn on the scramble function
3) reprogram 8 channels to PMR446 to give you best of both worlds.....UK general 449 on first 8 , PMR 446 on second 8 channels

UK general UHF is only 3 frequencies , repeated over and over with different ctcss/dcs codes :-)

Or just replicate the de-facto 16 Kenwood channels, I suppose it depends who you ride with really.
