So I had a small dump with my '01 1150GS yesterday. All the details are here, but I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts as well.

The basic story: dumped the bike at low-speed into soft, wet sand. Banjo fitting on front master cylinder loosened a bit but I was able to tighten it back up. I'm curious to what extent I need to bleed the system. Also, my starter button/switch is gummed up; feels like there's sand/mud in there. Any suggestions on how to clean it out?

paging Steptoe, paging Dr. Steptoe...

Thanks a lot, everyone!

Maybe best if you re-phrase the wording.

"had a small dump" means something entirely different in the UK :augie:D

Thanks steptoe...in actuality, I know what it means...certainly got your attention, eh?

You're right, though, I should change it, except I don't have an edit button on that post! :nenau

Success!!

A quick update: The switches cleaned up just fine! I was able to straighten the handlebars about 90% of the way. Good enough to ride but I'll probably replace them this winter. The brake reservoir and lines looked okay, too. The brake lever is a bit spongy, but firms up when I pump it, so I think I'll be able to just bleed the system and call it good!

I've posted complete details at the same ADV post linked in my original post here.

Thanks to all of you for your help! Cheers, mates! :beerjug::beerjug:

All done!!

All the repairs are complete and the bike seems to be just fine. Thanks to all of you for your help! I've posted more details at the ADV post linked in the first post on this thread.

Thanks again to all of you! You chaps are fine in my book! :beerjug:
