AND I LOVE IT

Just had to tell you all.
05 reg, 1200GS in Blue. 8000 miles.
In the first week, I managed to cover 350 miles. Not bad considering I was at work every day, and my daily commute is 100yds. Even I can walk that.
It's my first BMW and I can't help wondering why the Japs don't use some of the ideas that BMW do...
A little lever, to lower the headlight beam, for when you are fully loaded. GENIUS.
SOFT comfy suspension, that actually HANDLES properly (are you listening Mr Kawasaki??).
A screen that works and is ADJUSTABLE (but I now have a tobinator fitted).
ABS. Not needed it, but it's reassuring to know it's there. It stops me sliding the back end into parking spaces
Chunky switches that work with a gloved hand.
A "hidden" system so you can turn the headlights OFF for daytime use. I DO NOT use headlights in the daytime.
Remotely adjustable preload (big black knob).
An ability to run on crap petrol (91octane).
Fuel guage.
Hazard lights.
BUT.
WHY did they put the start button up there??? And the kill switch?? I thought you were supposed to be able to turn the engine off without removing your hand from the bars.
I'm getting used to the indicators, but still can't see the benefit of 3 switches.
Bloody horn button. WHY do I have to push it UP, and not IN??
Fuel guage. Brilliant idea. Just as comical as the Jap ones.
Accessory catalogues. I thought LandRover ones were big. I could spend thousands on bike kit. I won't. Although I have got some shiny bits to add on

Bugger all storage under the seat. Can't even get my chain and lock under there.
Beardy blokes keep wanting to talk to me

That's it for now. I'm off out to fit my shiny bits.... Then ride it some more. It's costing me a fortune in petrol, and the missus seems to have forgotten I live here.....
