I got a call about 3 weeks before the insurance I have on 4 bikes I have was due for renewal, the bikes are as follows:
1996 BMWR1100GS
1990 BMWR100GS/PD
2002 Suzuki DRz400E
1980 Honda 250 RS
The initial Quote was €480, to which I responded that I had searched around and AON had quoted me €70 less, the lad
on the other end of the line asked me to hold while he spoke to the under-writers. About 3 minutes later he was back to
say he could match that quote, I said that's great but that I'd have a bit of a shop around given the big difference in his
initial quote. I wasn't pushed for time so I waited till he rang me back again 2 weeks later, I told him I had since gotten a
quote from a third Insurer with identical benefits with a further €40 reduction. Again I was put on hold for a couple of
minutes he came back to me saying he would match it with a quote of €368, I nearly took the shoulder off him.
All those hours spent ringing around for better quotes paid off.
