Hello All, I'm in the process of restoring a well used K1100LT. The original shock needs replacing so I'm wondering whether to go with a new Hagon, they're almost twice the price of a standard beemer shock ! but are they twice as good? Any advice would be much appreciated from all you guru's out there.

i've had a few hagons on various Bikes.
found them hard, but good for 'spirited riding' ;).
but for what you got - i'd go for an original. :thumb2

just my 2 cents :nenau

I`ve got Hagon rear shocks on my GL1100 and am pleased with them.

A great advantage with Hagons if bought direct is that you can get them custom built to your spec...spring rate to match likely loading, etc as well as the cosmetic spec to your desire.

However,as Og says...in your case I`d spend half as much on a stock one.

Had two hagons in the past. One for a K1100LT first and one for a CBR1000F a few years later. Both started leaking within a thousand miles and sent them back for a refund.Ended up putting originals back on both and were still on when I sold the bikes. Wouldnt touch them now although that was a few years ago.Just my personal opinion.

just another personal opinion here,
i had a K75 with a Hagon the previous owner had put on.
it leaked.(apparently an entire batch did )
it was only a few months old. i had the receipt. contacted Hagon / sent a copy of the receipt - was upfront that i was not the buyer / the prev. owner was.
i got sent a new shock f.o.c. - all i had to do/pay for, was posting the old one back.

good service. :thumb2
