Hoping someone can clarify this:

The sensor fitted to my 2001 1150 has a different (Bosch) part number on it to the others I've seen. It also has 5, not 4 wires going in to the conector block. Motorworks have confirmed that at some point there was a change but no model year is stated - does this mean that they're interchangeable?

After thinking my sensor had failed recently, I bought a used example from Motorworks but want to confirm its compatability with my bike before deciding on whether to return it or not.

Strange. I can only find the same part number for all 1150s, for all years, including GSA's. 1100 has a different part number from the 1150 tho.

P'raps it's been replaced with a wrong 'un before?

So wasn't it the hall sensor after all?

Apparently not, just returned from a quick 1,200+ mile trip to Madrid & the Picos, no problems at all (unless of course I don't count getting punted off the bike after being spun round 180 degrees on a Spanish roundabout.....:blast).

On Saturday 6th, had bike ticking over for 20 seconds, it cut out, I left it & then the fuel pump started pumping for 10 seconds whch should not happen without the engine turning (I think?). I fitted Ela's fuel pump relay & off it went, ran fine. I imagine a relay is little more than a switch?

The Hall Sensor from Motorworks did not arrive in time for the trip. I fitted a new relay Tuesday night, did a 30 mile test ride & went to Spain following AM. Only other thing I did was to clean the Hall Sensor - it looked dirty from fording & geberal offroading.

You want to watch that geberal offroading - the little furry fellas aren't keen on it at all. :D

Anyway - where were you today? There's me dropping into NOG to get an MoT and I spot a rather nice Harley Sportster 1200 on the forecourt (doncha love those traders?). Mr Possu nowhere to be seen... :D

Although there was a change in the 1150 hall sensor, they all fit and work the same.

You can't interchange 1100 and 1150 sensors. The plug is different.

But i'm sure if you spliced an 1150 plug onto an 1100 sensor ( or vice versa) it would work. Although you'd also have to work out which wires go where, as they also changed the wiring colours and order.
