I've read somewhere on this forum that the hand guards from an 1150 GS will fit an 1100 GS. Are there any mods required on the 1150 guards or are they a direct fit ???

If your talking about the genuine BMW plastic guards.

The only difference is between the twin spark and single guards

I have fitted the 1150 GS guards to my 1100 GS, far better than the original ones.

It's a straight fit and should take about 20 minutes for the first side, about 7 minutes for the second side, coz you'll know what to do.

There weren't any twin spark flat twins around when I fitted my 1150 hand guards, so I don't know of any differences.

Mick.

Yes, I'm refering to the original BMW 1150 GS one's, what's the difference with the twin spark hand guards ???

Anyone got any for sale ???

One other question, can you use the bar end weights with the 1150 guards ???

Is someone thinking engine guards & not hand guards, "Twin spark different" ???

I think Steptoe is on about HEAD guards not HAND guards ...

Yes they fit, yes you can use the bar end weights, yes they are loads better (IMO). Depending on how you have your bars set up you might need to cut a little out of the RH side to accommodate the brake reservoir, but you can do that with a sharp stanley knife, Count your fingers after.

Jim Elderfield has some 2nd hand guards I think?
