Handle bar diameter

Are the bars on a 1990 R100RS the same diameter as most jap bikes?

Just fancy a handle bar change

I seem to remember someone saying they were slightly thicker on these bikes but I can't remember who or where

i never had an RS!

oh.. o.k - i did have an R80/7 dressed up as an RS.

They should be a 7/8ths thickness but some of the early cast alloy throttle sleeves where a slightly bit bigger which can make grips tight unless you wet/dry them smoother or a bit smaller??.

Jap grips fit ok but may need a good glueing on the left side..
