Hi
Does anyone have any experience of these muffs? Tucano etc?
Im ok with keeping warm except my fingers just turn to ice and spoils my commute of 50 miles each way.
Getting soft I know :nenau

Yes.

Lots of people here use them

They look shit, they have no style and if that bothers you, don't try them.

On the other hand, if you want to ride comfortably and safely throughout the whole year, they are fekking superb :thumb2

Also have a look at the gaucho....AKA the 'shitbag'......even fuglier, even less style, but once you've worn one on your bike through winter, you'll scoff at anyone who raises an eyebrow at you :thumb2

Any fuckwit can be cold on a bike......

Tucano everytime. Mine will be fitted for tomorrow's ride. Oxford etc are cheap shite in comparison.

Wont do a winter without them

Had a pair of oxford basic ones for a few years and compared to the Tucano ones i have now there's no comparison.
Tried all manner of things before putting me hands into muffs and nothing works as well IMHO.
I can live with anything that allows me to do an hour at motorway speeds at 6 in the morning throughout the winter wearing my summer mesh gloves no matter how ugly they look.

Spend your money, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner :thumb

do these muffs get left on the bike all weathers (not practical to keep removing?) So doesn't the fur lining just get cold, wet and frozen solid in minus conditions??

No it's not practical to keep putting them on and taking them off. I was doing this on my last bike because weather was so changeable. It's not difficult, just a pita to keep doing.
I put them onto my current bike about 4 weeks ago and that's where they'll stay until April I expect.

I have some Tucanos (not sure which model) that worked great on my 1150, but they are a bit tight on the 1200GSA.

For the guys with 1200s, which Tucanos do you use?

Mine will go on this week sometime,as my paws are starting to get cold in the mornings.

They get left on until about March/April time and this is the 8th year they 've been on:thumb2

I use the 319s. They were bought and used on the F8GS I had at the time but now live on the 1200.

Not happened to me yet, the bike stays outside at work all day. I do make a point of twisting them towards the floor and pinching them closed if its raining.

They make what used to be a hand numbing, dangerous ride to work a pleasure. In my experience, the piss takers and sniggeres are often the fair weather riders not seen out past September. I have converted a few piss taking mates to the ways of the muff and they still thank me for it....DO IT :pullface

Will they work with fitted handguards?

Will they work with fitted handguards?

I've got TT hand guards on my F800gs and the muffs fit with a bit of pulling and adjusting. They were a bit tricky at first but with the aid of a few zip ties and some fine tuning they now fit fine. The fittings that come with them didn't help much so I had to suss out a more personalised approach, nothing crazy just a few strategic bends in the right places and nip up with the ties.

Go on you know you want to :JB

Got them on a pal's 2011 model without having to remove extensions. Tight but they went over in the end.

Get them - you won't regret it. They even suit the GS. :thumb2

Excellent, will have a look.:thumb Which make/ model muffs did you fit?
