Hi

Has anyone spun their handlebar mounts round for the bit of extra reach?
I did this on my previous GS but can't remember which bolt has to be tightened fully first. One goes right through to the yoke and the other is smaller and doesn't go all the way through. It doesn't say in the manual but I would presume the longer bolt needs to be fully tightened and the smaller one is just to clamp the bars.
I've already done it and forgot to look before I loosened them whether the gap should be on the side of the two smaller bolts that don't go all the way through or not. Can someone check where the gap is on their bike please?
(If they haven't been rotated the gap would be nearest to the rider)

thanks in advance...Rob

The longer of the two bolts so the one that goes into the yoke gets tightened first. The smaller one is the clamp bolt and is done up last :thumb.

If it helps

if it helps I am doing a report/study/call it what you wish (I call it doing whatever I can for a decent chap) for Norman (NN) on a handlebar with extra reach - he tends to kindly acknowledge my recommendations so it might be worth keeping an eye out on his website?

I'm happy with the bit you get by spinning the standard mounts. I got a bit of a shock when the bolts left a small gap and then I remembered this was the case on my previous bike.

The Adventure handlebar blocks are held onto the top yoke only be one M10 bolt on each side, even though the top yoke has four M10 bolt holes. The M8 bolts dont go with through and should be tightened after the M10 are fully pulled up..

I already got the answer (2nd post) but thank you :thumb
