What, with only 2,476,320 posts on the whole forum, I can't believe how I could have missed that this has already been discussedYou mean you didn't know?
Muffs are seriously ugly but if you're a hardcore all weather biker, ugly doesn't matter because these things will keep your hands warm.

Yes - the tops of the handguards need to come off - its a 2min job. Trick is to remember where the fek you put them for when the muffs come off.
Tucano muffs work well, and are available from VAL H or Nippy Normans.
Muffs are ugly and gay. But who cares?
I wear the thin BMW GS Enduro gloves all winter and they are toasty when used with the muffs. Often the heated grips need to be turned off.

not removed mine for the last two winters, no problems
gaucho is also superb been -5 degrees C this week at 5 am
nearlly burnt my hands on the gs on sunday ,muffs on heated grips on 2 ,way to hot ,had to put my hand in the cold air to cool down ,yes i know ishould turn them to 1 ,or turn them off..

But....... How easy is it to stick my hands in an out of your muffs? Its just I wear glasses and need to lift my visor regularly!
I use Buck Pads find them on ebay, on and off in 30 seconds, you can see the controls, hands in and out easy, not quite as warm as full on muffs but combined with heated grips good enough. go over the standard hand guards no problem.

Very easy. Clearly not as easy as without muffs but you get used to it.

What the heck are buck pads? I tried searching for 'buck pads' on ebay and all I got was brake pads and mouse mats with deer on them.
